Marvel introduces Daredevil at NYCC

Over the past few months Marvel has been teasing more and more casting updates for the upcoming reboot of ‘Daredevil,’ set to launch on Netflix in 2015. Now the studio is sharing a bit more of the actual story, along with new images of the highly-anticipated series.

Earlier today in NYC during the New York Comic-Com panel, Marvel introduced Charlie Cox, the lead character of the series. It was the first real look at the character’s costume design that Marvel has released to-date, showing the lead-actor as both Matthew Murdoch, the helpful blind lawyer, and the vigilante Daredevil.

In the pictures below you can see the first stages of Daredevil’s costume, which he made himself. The costume designed was heavily influenced by Daredevil: Man Without Fear!, the 1993 storyline written by John Romita Jr. and Frank Miller.

Joining Charlie Cox on-screen will be Elden Henson as Franklin “Foggy” Nelson, Rosario Dawson will play Claire Temple and Vincent D’Onofrio will play the villain The Kingpin.

Executive producing the series will be showrunner Steven S. DeKnight, Drew Goddard and Jeph Loeb. Netflix has a few of these Marvel series in the works, but is keeping quiet for now on the full details of that partnership. As for now, fans can look forward to seeing 13-episodes in the first season of Daredevil.

Other series that are in the works include works based on Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage. (Fun fact, Luke Cage is the character that Nicolas Cage based his screen-name on, he is actually one of the Coppolas.) Daredevil is set to hit Netflix in 2015.
