As previously reported, the Ghostbusters 3 film will be lead by an all-female band of ghost-hunters. To make the project even more tantalizing for fans of comedy films, the script will come from the same team that launched ‘The Heat’.

Paul Feig, the director behind the comedy smash ‘Bridesmaids,’ and the pure genius that was the television series ‘Freaks and Geeks,’ has been officially chosen to write the script for the third installment in the long-dormant franchise. Working with Feig will be Katie Dippold, the two worked together to create the Sandra Bullock/Melissa McCarthy film ‘The Heat’ which was a gigantic success for the studio.

Feig was the one who broke the news on Twitter stating, “It’s official. I’m making a new Ghostbusters & writing it with @katiedippold & yes, it will star hilarious women. That’s who I’m gonna call.”

More information on casting, a release window, and other details on the new film will be released as the project moves forward in production.
