Fans of the horror-thriller franchise ‘The Purge’ should be happy to learn that James DeMonaco has been confirmed as the director for the third installment, set to hit theaters next year. Universal, Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes will once again team-up to produce the new film.
The franchise has been an astonishing success for Universal. “The Purge: Anarchy” brought $108 million worldwide to the studio, while the original took in $89 million on just a $3 million budget. No casting updates or updated plotlines have been released for the third-film, which is expected to feature the same dystopian America that fans loved in the first and second installments.
More information is expected as the film moves along in production.
