The last time we checked in with ‘The Water Diviner’ was when the film made a short appearance at the Cannes Film Festival back in May, when only a small portion of the film was shown to those in attendance. Now you can watch an even shorter version of that presentation with a new trailer released today from the studio.
The Weinstein Company picked up the rights to the Russell Crowe film, this marks Crowe’s first directorial debut. The film follows Crowe, an Australian farmer in Turkey, who is looking for more information about his missing sons who were reported MIA. The children were lost after fighting broke-out during the battle of Gallipoli, the events of the film take place four years after that incident.
Directed by Crowe, the script was written by Andrew Knight and Andrew Anastassios and is under the RatPac Entertainment film production house. The project was produced by Brett Ratner and James Packer. The film does not have a release window here in the states, but it will release in theaters on December 26 in Australia.
