Bryan Singer returns to direct X-Men: Apocalypse

Fans of the last X-MEN film should be happy to know that Bryan Singer will return to the series. Singer is set to direct the new installment ‘X-Men: Apocalypse.’ Singer has been a consistent staple in the franchise, directing 3 of the past films, making this his fourth in the director’s chair.

The latest film in the franchise, ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past,’ was a worldwide sensation, grossing over $740 million across the globe and taking the top-spot in the X-MEN franchise. Simon Kinberg will work the script for the film, the story will be based on writings from Singer, Kinberg, Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris.

The new installment will pick-up years after the events of Days of Future Past, ensuring that many of the hit actors can have a safe return to the franchise. James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman and Nicholas Hoult are all expected to return for the new film.

Joining them this time around will be Channing Tatum as Remy LeBeau, or Gambit as fans know him. The film is set to begin shooting in 2015 with a release date planned for May 27, 2016.
