FOX sets Marvel’s Deadpool movie for 2016
After leaked test-footage was found online a few weeks back, FOX has finally confirmed and dated the new film “Deadpool,” for 2016. The “X-Men” spin-off and stand-alone film is now set to release in theaters on February 12, 2016.
Directing the film will be Tim Miller and once again Ryan Reynolds, the same actor that portrayed the character in 2009’s “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” is expected to play the role. That being said, there is no official word on Reynolds at this time.
Deadpool is one of the newer comic-book heroes to get a film, in order of appearance or debut, the character was created by Rob Liefeld and writer Fabian Nicieza back in 1991.
With the new announcement FOX also confirmed that “Assassin’s Creed” will no longer release on August 7, 2015 and now the “Fantastic Four” reboot will be moved into the June 19 slot.
