Earlier this year we reported that Legendary Entertainment was in the process of making two monster-films, ‘Godzilla 2’ and ‘Skull Island.’ Now we have can confirm that Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary ENT. have a lead for the latter. Fan favorite Tom Hiddleston will now star in the Jordan Vogt-Roberts directed feature.
The film will be a reboot and origin story of the classic tale of King Kong, currently going under the name ‘Skull Island’.
Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures confirmed that ‘Godzilla 2’ will release on June 8, 2018, while ‘Skull Island’ is expected to release in November 2016.
Gareth Edwards will direct ‘Godzilla 2,’ which is one of the major reasons that the film won’t release until 2018. Gareth will also be directing one of the new Star Wars installments, meaning he will be quite busy for the next few years, pushing ‘Godzilla 2’ to the later release window.
More information on all of these films will be released as they move along further into production
