George Clooney named for Cecil B. DeMille Award

The Golden Globes may be a few more months away, but Hollywood favorite George Clooney already has one award in the bag. This week the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced George Clooney, celebrity hero and activist of late, will be the star chosen to receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award on January 11, 2015.

The award isn’t for acting, though it is given out at the Golden Globes, it is instead a recognition of a person that has made “an incredible impact on the world of entertainment.” Clooney is well known for his humanitarian and political efforts, both on-screen and off.

With two Academy Awards and four Golden Globes under his belt, Clooney’s mantle will probably need to be lengthened to fit all of his recent acclamations and statues.
