Katie Holmes will make her directorial debut with a new film adaptation of ‘All We Had’ written by Annie Weatherwax. Not only will Holmes direct the film, she is also set to star in the project as well.

Producing the film will be Jane Rosenthal, while Josh Boon of ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ will adopt the screenplay. The film centers on the relationship of a mother and her daughter, living through the poverty of rural America, who meet and eventually befriend a local family in the area.

The original novel was released back in August of this year, it was the debut novel from the popular artist and was very well-received upon release. “I am very excited and honored to be collaborating with Jane and Josh on this project and look so forward to bringing Annie’s incredible characters to the screen,” said Holmes in a statement.
