Taylor Lautner’s new thriller Tracers picked up by Saban Films

This week Saban films acquired the North American distribution rights for ‘Tracers’ at the Toronto Film Festival. The new action-thriller features Taylor Lautner and Marie Avgeropoulos, in what will be the second film-deal for the newly created Saban Films (via Haim Saban).

At just four months old, the studio is still picking its starting lineup, Saban Films officially started acquiring rights to films just before the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. The first film chosen by the studio was Tommy Lee Jones’ film “The Homesman.”

In this new project Taylor Lautner joined his former “Twilight” producers Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, also attached to produce is Scott Lumpkin. The film takes place right here in New York City, Lautner took on the role of a bike courier in debt to local crime gang.

Directing the film is Daniel Benmayor based on a script written by Leslie Bohem, Matt Johnson, Kevin Lund and T.J. Scott. This film does not have a release window at this time, but “The Homesman” will see a premiere date on November 7.
