Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season two trailer builds the drama

With all of the surprises, plot-twists, introduced characters and thrilling moments, it’s easy to forget that Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is only starting the show’s second season this month. With a new premiere just a few weeks away ABC studios has released the first trailer for the sophomore season, which you can watch below.

There will be even more characters joining and opposing Coulson’s team in the new season. The trailer is a monologue with a few phrases that should resonate with fans. “The enemy has the advantage,” Coulson admits. “We have to fight on for those we lost, so the sacrifices they made were not made in vain. And then, we’ll disappear — become ghosts. That’s how we have to live now: In the shadows. To protect the innocent, to save lives. Even when they don’t know it.”

Some of the new characters that are joining the series next season include Adrianne Palicki as Mockingbird; Kyle MacLachlan as Skye’s (Chloe Bennet) father; Lucy Lawless is coming on board as a S.H.I.E.L.D veteran Isabelle Hartly and Reed Diamond is joining as Daniel Whitehall (Kraken).

The new season of “S.H.I.E.L.D.” launches on September 23.
