Earlier today the popular country-music star Carrie Underwood and her husband, National Hockey League player Mike Fisher, announced that they are expecting their first child together. The news of the pregnancy was confirmed by Underwood and Fisher, the two chose to make the announcement on their social media accounts late Monday.

NHL player Fisher is 34, he is a center for the Nashville Predators and at just 31, Underwood is best known for her Country Music career, she was one of the first to win “American Idol.” Since then things have only gotten better for Underwood, picking up six Grammys over her career and earning not one, but two Academy of Country Music’s entertainer of the year awards for her work.

She is also a popular host of the event, she will once again be co-hosting the Country Music Association Awards with her partner in crime Brad Paisley this November 2014.
