MythBusters says goodbye to Kari, Grant and Tory

Myth-confirmed, in a sad way this time. It was revealed this week that the popular series ‘MythBusters’ will be saying goodbye to the show’s three popular hosts. The show’s two main staples, Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, will remain but the two confirmed at the end of Thursday’s season finale that the three co-hosts (Kari Byron, Tory Belleci and Grant Imahara) would not be coming back for any more episodes in the future.

“We’re going to take a brief moment to thank you guys for your incredible work over the last 10 years,” said Adam Savage before the show played a short montage of clips from featuring the three hosts. “You have given, literally, your blood, sweat and tears in the name of science, and it has been a total pleasure not only to work with you, but to call you our friends”

In the end Hyneman stated that the show is going back to the show’s “origins” and only Hyneman and Savage would be appearing in new episodes next season.

This is probably due to money, the show isn’t pulling in the same ratings as before and cost to keep the myths coming seems to be rising (not to mention the occasional cannonball through a neighboring house). Instead of cutting-down the myths, the show is cutting down the talent to save on production costs, or so it appears. Luckily Buster works for free.
