If you were one of the millions of people who enjoyed the latest Godzilla remake, then you should be happy to hear that the sequel is only a few years away.
Both Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have confirmed that the next installment to the film franchise will release on June 8, 2018. That may be longer than many people might have hope, but the next few years will be riddled with Star Wars films to keep them busy and a giant-ape movie.
One of the main drawback to having Star Wars right around corner, is that Gareth Edwards will be tied-up developing one of the installments, he will have to wrap-up that project before he can return to direct Godzilla 2. We are sure fans won’t mind waiting for the director to return to the series however, as the original Godzilla was a gigantic hit with the target demographic.
Also on the schedule from Legendary pictures is “Skull Island,” a reboot of the King Kong franchise, that film is expected to release in November 2016. More information on all of these films will be released as they move along further into production
