It is one of the most iconic spaceships in the film industry, and fans of the Star Wars franchise got to see another one up-close thanks to a new teaser video from J.J. Abrams. The popular director took a moment from directing ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ to address fans while standing next to a life-sized X-Wing Fighter, the small-class fighter that took down the Death Star itself.
The X wing fighter is just one of the classic ships expected to make an appearance in the film as part of the former rebel fleet, other ships that are expected to hit the film are the Millennium Falcon and possibly a Z-95 headhunter.

Abrams has been using the excitement and anticipation of the new film as leverage to raise money under the “Force for Change” charity-campaign. This began by offering contributors a chance to be in the film itself, other prizes include a chance to attend the screening of the film in their hometown with 20 friends. If chosen the lucky fans will see the movie one week before anyone else, the actual premier is dated for December 2015.
“We know how much Star Wars means to so many of you,” Abrams said, “and we’d love to share the movie with you first while supporting this truly great cause.”
