Harry Potter actor Dave Legeno, who played Fenrir Greyback, found dead at 50
In what appears to be a tragic accident, london-born actor Dave Legeno has been found dead at the age of 50. His remains were first discovered early Sunday in Death Valley, California. Fans may best know Legeno from his work in the ‘Harry Potter’ series, he appeared in three of the films, as the ferocious Fenrir Greyback.
At only 50 Legeno’s acting career was far form over, although Legeno has been described as a former professional fighter, the hot desert appears to have been too much for him, and first reports point to “heat related issues,” resulting in his death. This according to the local Inyo County Sheriff’s Dispatch who wrote the term in a statement to the press, though they are not yet certain.
“The Inyo County Coroner will determine the final cause of death,” the statement added. “There are no signs of foul play.” It was earlier today that two hikers first reported finding Legeno’s remains, this was around 7:00 a.m local-time. The California Highway Patrol used a helicopter out to retrieve them and eventually the body, since the area was so remote.
Legeno appeared in “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” and both “Deathly Hallows” films.
