The heroes and villains on CW’s ‘The Flash’ just keep adding up, and the show hasn’t even premiered yet! The latest addition to the cast is Robbie Amell (The Tomorrow People) who will join the series as the popular DC Character Firestorm.
As of right now Amell has been listed as a “recurring role” on the upcoming series, more information is expected to be released over the new few weeks.
Firestorm is a DC Comics character who also goes by the name of Ronnie Raymond, he will first appear in season-one, episode three of the series as Caitlin Snow’s (played by Danielle Panabaker) fiance. In the series Ronnie works at the heroic S.T.A.R. Labs, where he is part of the experiment with the very particle accelerator that creates The Flash/Barry Allen (played by Grant Gustin).
As of right now we don’t know if Ronnie will play the part of Firestorm alone, in the comics he is one-half of Firestorm, bonded with another character to create the superpower.
More information on the upcoming season of the Flash is set to be released later this month when the CW takes the series to Comic-Con where more characters, details, and castings are set to be released. There will also be a pilot, and a few terrific teaser videos for fans to get excited about as well, when the event takes off in late June.
The Flash premieres Oct. 7 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
