Community SAVED, Yahoo and Sony Pictures TV confirm season 6 is on its way

For fans of the former NBC series ‘Community’ each season must seem like a battle, one that the fans lost when it was canceled by the network at the end of season five. Fear not, for this time the fans won another showing. Yahoo and Sony Pictures TV announced on Monday that there will be 13 new episodes of the recently-cancelled series that will be available exclusively on Yahoo Screen starting this fall.
Best of all Dan Harmon, the creator of the series, will executive produce. In a statement Harmon said, “I am very pleased that Community will be returning for its predestined sixth season on Yahoo,.” He added, “I look forward to bringing our beloved NBC sitcom to a larger audience by moving it online. I vow to dominate our new competition. Rest easy, Big Bang Theory. Look out, Bang Bus!”
Joining Harmon is Russ Krasnoff (“The Soloist”) who is also attached as an executive producer, along with Gary Foster (“Sleepless in Seattle”) and Chris McKenna (“The Mindy Project”). More information will be released later today.
