Following a very publicized battle with Amazon, ‘The Lego Movie’ still managed to come in at number-one on the Top-10 DVD & Blu-ray Disc sales. This according to the Rentrak’s Retail Essentials and Home Video Essentials tracking services. The Warner Bros.’ popular film was the most popular at home this week, the film’s first week available outside of theaters.
The data collected was for week ending June 22, 2014 with Universal’s ‘Lone Survivor’ taking second-place on the charts as it goes into the film’s third week of availability. Also from Universal was the action-thriller ‘Non-Stop,’ that film earned third-place this week as the film continues into its second week on store shelves and online stores.
Paramount Picture’s ‘Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit’ was fourth-place this week, that film was also in its second week of availability outside theaters. Not to be forgotten, Disney’s ‘Frozen’ still makes the Top 5 after fourteen weeks of availability. You can find all of these films digitally or in retail version on amazon.com/moviesthisweek.
