Doctor Who season premiere set in August, new trailer shows an electric Peter Capaldi
It seems so long ago now, when we first learned that Peter Capaldi would take the role of the new Doctor on BBC’s long-running series, and the wait is almost over to see him in action. BBC America was kind enough to release a new trailer for the upcoming season, just in time for fans to voice all of their expectations on the internet over the weekend.
This will be the eighth season of the rebooted Doctor Who, but it is of course the very first for Capaldi, who will begin his journey with us at 8PM ET on August 23, 2014. The first episode will be a theatrical one that no fan should miss, with a feature-length installment entitled “Deep Breath.” In the first episode expect to learn some of Capaldi’s characteristics as the Twelfth Doctor, and watch him meet his team.
That team, which will consist of Jenna Coleman as she returns to the series as companion Clara Oswald, will also add Samuel Anderson. He will join the cast as Danny Pink. That character has been described as a teacher at Coal Hill School, the same school that Clara also works when she is not traveling around with the good Doctor. Ben Miller, Keeley Hawes and Tom Riley are set to guest star in the first episode.
