Katy Perry launches Metamorphosis Music label, signs Ferras

Time to start branching out, the pop-queen Katy Perry is moving into the record-label business with her new partnership with Capitol Records that allows her to launch a new label called Metamorphosis Music. At just 29 years-old the singer/performer is on top of the world, and it looks like she will be helping other artists find their own voice with her new label starting in 2014.
 
The first artist that was signed under the new label was singer-songwriter Ferras, Perry was already the exec producer of the Ferras’ self-titled EP, which just digitally under Metamorphosis earlier today (Tuesday). “I am so ECSTATIC to finally announce my NEW label Metamorphosis Music & my first signing, the incredibly talented & soulful FERRAS!” Perry tweeted to her fans.
 
“Legends Never Die” is a song that Perry duets with Ferras, and he will be coming with her on her NA tour later this year. “Ferras is a man with a message and a unique, lyrical way of communicating his perspective on life that makes you feel connected to every note when you listen,” Perry said in a statement to the press. “‘Speak in Tongues’ is a song with raw emotional power that I wish I wrote. I believe he is going to be an important artist to watch unfold. I am so ecstatic the world gets to hear his music now both online and on tour with me.”
 
Fans that are eagerly awaiting the launch of Perry’s tour should know that June 22 is the first stop, in Raleigh, N.C.
