Father of the Bride 3 set to star Steve Martin once again (report)
The classic comedy-film ‘Father of the Bride’ will now be a trilogy, according to reports from Nikki Finke. The third film will bring back Steve Martin, though this time it will move away from previous story-lines and take on gay marriage.
George Banks, played by Martin in the first two films, will now have to help plan the wedding of his now 29-year-old son Matty, he is engaged to the son of a US Navy SEAL. Even though Finke has a story and a few crew-members on-deck, Warner Bros. Pictures has yet to officially announce the film.
The original director Charles Shyer is also attached to the third-installment. All eyes will be on Kieran Culkin, the original actor that played Matty in the first two-films, if the current plot summary is correct. The film series began by rebooting the original film ‘Father of the Bride’ made famous by Spencer Tracy, Joan Bennett and Elizabeth Taylor in 1950.
