Ahead of season five premiere, Pretty Little Liars confirms season six and seven
It is no surprise that ABC renewed ‘Pretty Little Liars,’ the series has done famously well on social-media, and attracting record-audiences for the network with the shows’ shockers and twists. What is surprising is that ABC has renewed the series for two-years, with the girls heading into the unknown as they leave high-school behind.
Fans had an entire day today to catch-up on the series, with the fifth season premiere tonight on ABC Family, ABC confirmed that the sixth and seventh season are already signed, meaning more drama for the fans’ popular show. “Pretty Little Liars has taken its place in the zeitgeist and reigns supreme in pop culture,” said Tom Ascheim, president ABC Family. “I am glad to bring another two seasons to our audience, because ‘A’ has a lot in store for our Liars.”
“Pretty Little Liars” holds the record as the most-tweeted scripted-series telecast of all time, and across all genres, it holds 7 of the Top 15 most-tweeted series telecasts ever. The show also generated the highest average number of tweets per episode (675,000) of any TV series during the 2013/14 broadcast season. Based on total followers, “Pretty Little Liars” recently became the #1 scripted television series on Instagram, according to ListenFirst Media.
The longest-running original hit series, “Pretty Little Liars,” will have season six air mid-2015, and season seven is set to air mid-2016.
