Fans of Whitney Cummings can set a reminder for her new special, “Whitney Cummings: I Love You,” the event will premiere on Comedy Central on Saturday, June 28 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT. The special will be available on June 23, almost a full week ahead of the on-air premiere, on CC: Stand-Up Direct.
In her second one-hour Comedy Central special, taped at the Barclay Theatre in Irvine, CA, Cummings shares brutally honest insights about love and relationships, covering everything from what real orgasms look like to her frustration at men calling women “crazy.” In front of a packed audience, she dissects her recent breakup, her TV show, and the troubling voices in her head.
The Comedy Central App will offer fans, who sign in via their cable or satellite provider, the special on June 29. They will also have access to a treasure trove of additional content from the #1 brand in comedy. The Comedy Central app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch is available for free on the App Store or at AppStore.com/cc.
“Whitney Cummings: I Love You” extended and uncensored edition will be available on download to own platforms, and on July 1 the “Whitney Cummings: I Love You” digital album will be available at major retailers including iTunes and Amazon MP3.
Leading up to the on-air premiere, Comedy Central Stand-Up will feature preview clips from the special, including a “Comedy Central Re-Animated” clip produced by CC:Studios, with animation by Titmouse. Cummings will also take part in a Reddit “Ask Me Anything” Q&A in the week leading up to the on-air premiere, and fans can follow her on Twitter at @WhitneyCummings.
Cummings is a Los Angeles based comedian, actor, writer and producer. She co-created and co-wrote, along with Michael Patrick King, the CBS comedy “2 Broke Girls,” which recently got picked up for a 4th season. She also wrote, produced and starred in her autobiographical sitcom “Whitney,” which aired on NBC for 2 seasons.
Cummings appears regularly on E!’s “Chelsea Lately” and has appeared on several Comedy Central “Roasts.” Her one-hour stand up special, “Whitney Cummings: Money Shot,” premiered on Comedy Central in August 2010 and was nominated for an American Comedy Award later that year.
“Whitney Cummings: I Love You” is executive produced by Cummings, Marty Callner and Jimmy Miller. Toni Magon and Ryan Moran are the Executives in Charge for Comedy Central.
