Earlier this month we confirmed that Naomi Watts was joining the cast of ‘Insurgent,’ now you add Rosa Salazar to that list as well. The highly anticipated follow-up to Summit’s ‘Divergent’ series isn’t set to premiere until next year, but principal photography has already begun in Atlanta.
Once again this installment will star Shailene Woodley and Theo James, but this time Robert Schwentke is directing the film. The series is the film adaptation of Veronica Roth’s New York Times best seller, the screenplay is from Brian Duffield and Akiva Goldsman. Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher are producing the film through their Red Wagon Entertainment banner along with Pouya Shahbazian. Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman are executive producing through their Mandeville Films banner along with Neil Burger and Barry Waldman. Lionsgate will release INSURGENT theatrically in North America through its Summit Entertainment label on Friday, March 20, 2015.
Rose will be taking the role of Lynn in the films, a friend of Uriah and Marlene.
