Tracy Morgan remains in critical condition following fatal car accident on New Jersey Turnpike
Early Saturday morning, former star of ’30 Rock’ and currently touring stand up performer Tracy Morgan, was involved in a serious car-accident that has left him in critical condition. Morgan, 45 years-old, remains hospitalized after the limo-bus that he was traveling overturned in an accident that has already claimed the life of one man.
The accident took-place on the Northbound-side of the New Jersey Turnpike, Morgan was traveling in a limo bus, other cars involved in the accident were a large SUV, and two tractor-trailers. At this time one person was reported to have been killed in the crash, James McNair, a 63 year-old man from Peekskill, N.Y., who was a passenger inside Morgan’s limo bus at the time of the crash.
“The limo bus is the only vehicle that overturned,” said Sgt. Gregory Williams of the New Jersey State Police. “Looks like one of the tractor-trailers may have rear-ended that limo bus, but that’s preliminary at this time.”
Following the crash, a helicopter took Morgan to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, he remains in the Intensive Care Unit at this time. At the time this article was written, the investigation was focusing on a tractor trailer that is expected to be the cause of the crash failing to stop when headed towards slow-moving traffic on the turnpike.
