Scott Derrickson set to direct Marvel ‘Doctor Strange’ film

One of the lesser hyped films of the Marvel universe so far is ‘Doctor Strange,’ a film that has been working out a few of its more prominent positions as fans await the all-to-important cast assignments. Now the film has a director, Scott Derrickson, one that fans should find to be a promising addition to the franchise.
Doctor Strange is one of the older characters in the Marvel Universe, create in 1963 by Stan Lee himself along with Steve Ditko when he was but a younger-man. In the comics the Doctor is a very talented neurosurgeon. The character first appeared in ‘Strange Tales No. 110′.
Both Jon Aibel and Glenn Berger are rumored to be the two leads for the script of the film, but that has not been decided at this point. Deliver Us From Evil was the latest offering from the Director, that film had Eric Bana, Edgar Ramirez and Olivia Munn in the cast-credits.
The Exorcism of Emily Rose, was a big with horror fans, Derrikson both wrote and directed that film. Fans will be able to catch ”Deliver Us From Evil’ when it hits theaters on July 2. More casting news will be decided as the film moves further along in production.
