Star Wars: Episode VII adds Lupita Nyong’o and Game of Thrones’ Gwendoline Christie
The cast of Disney’s upcoming film ‘Star Wars Episode VII’ just keeps getting better and better, as two more stars have now been added to the project. Since we last checked in with the official cast, two more names have been added to the list. First, the long-rumored addition of Lupita has now been confirmed, she will join the very popular actor of Game of Thrones (Christie) in the film’s next installment.
This news comes after Nyong’o took home the Academy Award for best supporting actress this year for her breakout performance in ’12 Years a Slave’. Christie as we mentioned earlier, plays the role of Brienne of Tarth in the HBO series Game of Thrones.
In a statement released tp the press, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy stated, “I could not be more excited about Lupita and Gwendoline joining the cast of Episode VII. Kennedy later added, “It’s thrilling to see this extraordinarily talented ensemble taking shape.”
The film has already begun shooting, with Episode VII under the direction of J.J. Abrams and scheduled to release on December 18, 2015.
