MMO fans finally got to enter into the enormous world of Wildstar this morning. The vivid (and often times hilarious) MMO started the early-entry program for pre-orders at 12:01 on Saturday morning. Unlike traditional MMOs that skirt around realistic settings mixed with standard fantasy elements, NCsoft has something entirely new for gamers to experience with this new MMO.
The extensive beta-testing that the development team has put forth leading up to today’s launch will be put to the test as thousands of players login and explore the quests and raids the game has to offer. Joining the raids and quests are other popular gameplay elements, such as PvP and customizable housing, along with incredible races, locals, war-forts and so much more.
All of this comes from the Carbine development team, which will be celebrating all week with a few game-streams from Hot Pepper Gaming, Monika Lee, Bajeera, Sevadus and Mindcrack leading the way. That streaming-content will go live beginning today (Saturday, May 31) and will last through Monday, June 2 between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. PDT on its Twitch channel (twitch.tv/wildstar).
Also to celebrate with fans the developers will offer some great giveaways, including special items from Nvidia and Logitech. Not only will players be streaming, but you can watch the developers themselves battle it out in their own PvP battles.
The developers aren’t just challenging and rewarding fans, they are welcoming fans this week as well. Momemnts before the launch the team put out this welcome message stating, “WildStar engages players with a beautiful and distinctive animation style, robust housing customization and high-action combat that truly tests players’ skill with its combination of movement, aiming and ‘telegraphs’. In addition, the game’s personality is distinct in its own right; humorous but laced with a mysterious undercurrent that implies there is more happening on planet Nexus than meets the eye. WildStar ’s innovative Path system rewards players for their individual style of play, while providing an unprecedented level of exploration and discovery within the world.”
After all that excitement, you probably will want to jump right into the fray yourself, you can enter the game early with a pre-order and join WildStar’s head-start program.
Pre-orders will grant players immediate access to planet Nexus, along with a variety of exclusive in-game items and perks. Other editors including myself will be joining in tonight, leading up to the review and trying out our own shoddy PVP skills in the game.
