Absolutely Fabulous the movie, hoping to release “by the end of next year”
The popular comedy from yesteryear ‘Absolutely Fabulous’ is finally getting a film adaptation in 2015. The series, made famous by comedians Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders, who played the roles of Patsy Stone and Edina Monsoon, now has a film that will be coming together at long last.
It was the show’s creator herself, Jennifer Saunders, who confirmed the project at the Hay Festival this year, she is currently writing the script for the film. Saunders is also promoting her new book as well called “Bonkers: My Life in Laughs,” she told the press at the event that, “I am writing the film as we speak – it’s in the pipeline.” She then added, “I am hoping it will be released by the end of next year.”
The show had a terrific ten-year run, lasting from 1992 through 2012. Fans of the show are sure to remember Edina Monsoon and her BFF Patsy, and of course the always mocked daughter of Eddie named Saffron. The two friends were never any but selfish most of the time, with their drug-use and vices still making the duo a terrific mess well-after their prime.
More information on the film, a release window, and how large the launch will be is expected to be released at a later date.
