Parents around the world can introduce their children to a blue fox, who is off adventuring with friends in a world of stop-motion on the series ‘Tumble Leaf’. Amazon’s first original kids series is available today, exclusively on Amazon Prime Instant Video at no additional cost for Prime members. Created for preschool-aged children, each episode of Tumble Leaf follows Fig, a delightfully curious blue fox, and his best friend Stick, a quirky caterpillar, as they embark on a fun and nature-filled adventure, learning science through their natural play.
“We were blown away by Kelli and Drew’s concept of Tumble Leaf from the very beginning as it perfectly fits the mold of what we’re focused on with our programming: promoting creative thinking and education through a world of adventure and play.”
Created by Drew Hodges (Saturday Night Live, Community), Tumble Leaf features voice work from newcomers Christopher Downs as “Fig,” Landon Clay as “Hedge,” Addie Zintel as “Pine,” Brooke Wolloff as “Maple” and Gary Littman as “Ginkgo.”
“Drew and I have been counting down the days until we could share Fig and his wild adventures with the rest of the world,” said Kelli Bixler, Tumble Leaf Executive Producer of Bix Pix Entertainment. “Amazon Studios provided us with the opportunity to use our creativity to develop a series for kids that helps nurture their own creative thinking skills and teaches them to embrace science through play. We couldn’t be more thrilled to give children and their families something that is as educational as it is fun.”
“Amazon Studios is ecstatic about today’s debut of Tumble Leaf, our very first original kids series,” said Tara Sorensen, Head of Kids Programming at Amazon Studios. “We were blown away by Kelli and Drew’s concept of Tumble Leaf from the very beginning as it perfectly fits the mold of what we’re focused on with our programming: promoting creative thinking and education through a world of adventure and play.”
Starting today, Prime members have unlimited streaming access to the first six episodes of Tumble Leaf, at no additional cost to their membership. Prime members can watch on Amazon Fire TV, Kindle Fire, iPad, iPhone, Roku, Xbox, PlayStation, Wii and Wii U, and other connected devices, online at www.amazon.com/AIV, and on Prime Instant Video in the UK. Each episode consists of two 11-minute stories and the remaining seven episodes will become available later this summer. The series will also be available in Kindle FreeTime Unlimited, a service built just for kids that gives them the freedom to explore all their favorite books, games, educational apps, movies and TV shows, while providing parents with the tools they need to manage their kids’ screen time.
Tumble Leaf, like all of Amazon’s children’s programs, is designed to inspire creative thinking through play. To ensure series are created to engage children while supporting educational goals, Tumble Leaf and all other Amazon kids preschool programs are developed with the support of an expert board of advisors led by Dr. Alice Wilder, one of the world’s foremost experts in educational and child psychology. Dr. Wilder is most well-known for her work as the producer and director of research and development for Blue’s Clues and Blue’s Room.
Later this summer Prime Instant Video will debut two more children’s series: Creative Galaxy on June 27, an interactive art adventure for preschoolers created by Angela C. Santomero (Super Why!, Blue’s Clues, Daniel Tigers Neighborhood), that stars Christian Distefano (PAW Patrol) and Kira Gelineau (Dear Viola), and guest stars Samantha Bee (The Daily Show), Jason Jones (The Daily Show) and Jason Priestley (Beverly Hills 90210); and Annedroids on July 25, a live-action adventure series for children ages four through seven about a brilliant scientist who just happens to be an 11-year-old girl created by JJ Johnson (Dino Dan) that stars Addison Holley (Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood) and Adrianna Di Liello (Stage Fright).
