Cory Monteith’s birthday sparks heartfeld reminders from Lea Michele
May saw the passing of the first birthday since the death of late-actor Cory Monteith, who tragically died last year from a drug-overdose. To mark the moment Glee’s Lea Michele, Monteith’s then girlfriend and co-star, Tweeted a small but touching tribute to her former love on Twitter.
Michele spoke fondly of Monteith stating, “The biggest heart and most beautiful smile.. In all of our hearts.. We love you so.. Happy Birthday.” The short but heartfelt message went out to all of her friends, family and fans with a black-and-white photo of the couple together. On this past birthday Monteith would have turned 32, his official birthday was on Sunday.
It was less than a year ago that the former Glee actor was found dead in his Vancouver hotel room, an autopsy report read that Cory died from a lethal mix of heroin and alcohol. Cory and Lea dated off-camera, “He was not his addiction – unfortunately, it won. But that wasn’t who he was,” Lea told Seventeen’s April issue in an interview. “Cory made me feel like a queen every day. From the minute he said ‘I’m your boyfriend,’ I loved every day, and I thank him for being the best boyfriend and making me feel so beautiful.”
