ABC and other networks continue to chop series out of the lineup this week, with ‘Suburgatory’ being the latest well-known series to get the axe. Also on the list was the comedy ‘Super Fun Night,’ which is joining the growing list of finished shows.
These are just two of the series that got cut this week, other ABC series that were canceled this week are ‘Trophy Wife,’ ‘The Neighbors,’ and ‘Mixology,’ all of which won’t be returning to ABC anytime soon.
As for ‘Suburgatory’ and ‘The Neighbors’ those shows were notified last night, just as ABC confirmed that the network would be picking up the much talked about series ‘Selfie,’ which happens to be from Suburgatory’s creator Emily Kapnek.
ABC also picked up ‘Galavant,’ which just so happens to come from Dan Fogelman, creator of the other canceled series ‘The Neighbors.’ Of all the shows that we mentioned, Suburgatory was a season one success, and did manage to pull in higher than average ratings. This was mostly due to the popular star Jane Levy, who’s breakout performance and comedic timing took center-stage in the series. Season two saw a drop in ratings and in season three the show added both a casting change and change in setting. Neither of these changes brought the ratings back to season one status.
