All three of the above series got the axe today, FOX has confirmed that it will not be bringing back ‘Dads,’ ‘Enlisted,’ or ‘Surviving Jack’ for another season. Of all the series ‘Dads’ seemed the most successful, though not the most well-praised. The show featured well known actors and had a writing team from ‘Ted’ including Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild. The show didn’t survive on Tuesday nights, which brings us to our next short-lived series ‘Surviving Jack.’
The show had another popular lead, Christopher Meloni, with one of his first projects on television since the star left the successful series ‘SVU.’ The later position from FOX ment that it premiered midseason, and though the series came from Warner Bros. Television under the Bill Lawrence banner, the series couldn’t make it past the first season, even with heavy marketing from the network.
That leaves us with “Enlisted,” a series that I found to be the best of all three, but even the 20th TV born series couldn’t stand up against the competition. The military comedy won’t be coming back for a new season, which now leaves three spots that FOX will need to fill come next year.
