‘Spring Breakers: The Second Coming’ is a sequel on the move
When we were young most of wished that Spring Break would never end, and if the franchise started by Ashley Benson, Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens and James Franco continues to pull in tens-of-millions of dollars, ‘Spring Break’ could last a few years easily.
According to a confirmation from the production company, Wild Bunch is already working on a “Spring Breakers 2,” though a title, cast or release date hasn’t been quite nailed down yet.
We do know that “Spring Breakers: The Second Coming” will not star the previous bunch of young-adults away for the week. Instead a new cast will liven things up in the next installment. Things will be different though, this time moviegoers will watch as a group of girls on vacation battle a group of Christians trying to save them from their evil ways.
As I mentioned before the first film did remarkably well, with the help of the A-list casting that joined the film, pulling in over $31 million across the globe. There was even talk of an Oscar nomination, or a Golden Globe nomination for Franco’s Alien character, but that never came to pass in either award show. The amazingly talented Irvine Welsh (Trainspotting) is set to write the script, with Jonas Akerlund directing.
