Betty White talks gay rights with Larry King, discusses “ungrateful” young stars
The lovable and popular Betty White sat down with Larry King this week, the prominent actor spoke with King about a number of topics, while also speaking about her latest television series ‘Hot in Cleveland.’ At 92 years-old Betty White is more popular than ever, she has a series on TV, performs countless cameos on television-shows and films, and still does commercials to fill in the gaps.
The conversation moved from television to gay rights and Betty White wasn’t shy about voicing her opinion on the matter (not that she ever had been in the past) by saying, “I don’t care whom you sleep with. It’s what kind of a human being are you [that’s what matters to me]. I don’t understand [why people are anti-gay]. It’s such a personal private business and it’s none of mine.”
“You’re so right,” Larry King said in reply.
Also a topic in the interview, the growing trend of young stars, their fall from grace and how it upsets Betty White when she hears about these young actors on the news. “I get furious, if you must know,” she explained to Larry King. “Do you know the millions of people on this planet who would sell their own teeth to do what we’re doing?! And for [these celebrities] to think well I’ve got it coming to me I’m a star? Nope. I just think it’s unforgivable.”
