Natalie Portman, Ewan McGregor film ‘Jane Got a Gun’ now pushed back to 2015
The Weinstein Company and Relativity Media made it official, the Natalie Portman western starring Portman, Ewan McGregor and Joel Edgerton won’t be released until the first quarter of 2015.
The film, originally slated for 2014, will now release on February 20, 2015. The unique ‘indie-western’ as it is being described online, stars Portman as a young woman fighting for her husband’s safety. Portman’s husband is being tracked by outlaws who wish to kill them, the leader of the gang is Ewan McGregor. Portman’s character asks her former-lover (played by Joel Edgerton) to help them from the gang’s wrath.
The film was directed by Gavin O’Connor and it has been a long road to release. The original director Lynne Ramsay, was released from the project before the film began production in the south west, now the film is being pushed back out of 2014 entirely. It has no competition as of right now on February 20, though that is surely to change over the next few months.
