How I Met Your Father will be narrated by Meg Ryan
Just as the original series had Bob Saget narrating the story, the spinoff series ‘How I Met Your Dad’ will also have a narrator, but this time it will be Meg Ryan. Ryan was picked by CBS to be the voice behind the lead character, who is telling the story of how she met her children’s father.
The same thing was done with Bob Saget, though the show never did explain why another voice is used at all, when Ted’s character (played by Josh Radnor) could have easily told the story from both perspectives. In the new series the story will involve Sally, who will be played by Greta Gerwig, and now future Sally will be Meg Ryan. It still makes no sense, but at least its consistent. Deadline first reported the story earlier today.
Meg Ryan of course was the queen of the romantic comedy in the 1990s, she played opposite such greats as Billy Crystal and Tom Hanks in several films. Just like in the original series, it is unlikely that when the story ends it will be Meg Ryan, at the finale of the HIMYM it was Ted talking to the kids.
