Ann Brashares’ ‘Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants’ is getting a third film ‘Sisterhood Everlasting’
After an extended absence from the cinema, the series that helped introduce the world to Blake Lively, Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera and Amber Tamblyn is getting a third film. Alloy Entertainment is currently developing the third-installment to the “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” franchise.
Titled “Sisterhood Everlasting,” the film will once again follow the four lifelong friends, but this time they are all ten years older. That actually makes a lot of sense if the original cast comes back, because the second film came out about seven years ago. In the new chapter the friendship is straining, the foursome has grown apart, and it falls on Tibby to reunite the other three girls and she does so with a trip.
The original director, Liz Garcia, is coming back to the franchise but so far no official word yet on Blake Lively, Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera and Amber Tamblyn. The first movie released in 2005 and a sequel was released in 2008, together they grossed about $90 million worldwide. The films are from the popular novels from best-selling author Ann Brashares.
