The Bachelorette contestant in coma following paragliding incident in Utah (UPDATE)
A tragic turn of events have left an upcoming contestant of Andi Dorfman’s ‘The Bachelorette’ in a coma. The event happened on Sunday, a post on his Facebook page simply states, “Friends: Eric has been in a horrible paragliding accident and is currently in critical condition in a coma,” adding, “Things are not looking good right now…please, all across the world, even if you’re not a praying person, please pray for him. He needs your prayers more than ever.”
Beginning in February 2013, Eric has been participating in “The Global Odyssey,” or “GO with Eric,” in an attempt to travel to every country in the world in less than 1,200 days. Hill was also picked to star in ABC’s The Bachelorette earlier this year, he had already been eliminated from the show when the accident took place, though it has not aired at this time.
“Thank you all for your continuing prayers and support. This could have happened to Eric Jonathan Hill anywhere in the world, and I am so grateful that it happened where he is surrounded by loving friends and family. Whatever happens, I know he and all of us feel your love. I know our Heavenly Father is listening to your prayers, and I have faith that this is in His loving hands.”
UPDATE: Since this article was written, it has now been reported that Eric Hill has past away at the age of 31.
