Robert Pattinson, Guy Pearce square off in trailer for ‘The Rover’

The first trailer for the highly-anticipated Robert Pattinson and Guy Pearce film ‘The Rover’ has been released from the studio. This is the latest film to be directed by famed artist David Michôd, featuring a post-apocalyptic setting, with a crime drama twist.

In the film Pattinson plays Rey, the member of gang who is left behind to die by his fellow members after he is hurt. He then meets Eric (played by Pearce), a man stalking the very gang that Patterson was a member of, who stole something dear from him from him.

The trailer was released just before the film is to be shown at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, that event will take place in May. Joining Patterson and Pearce in the film are Scoot McNairy and Gillian Jones. Considering how popular both of the male actors are in the film, and how well post-apocalyptic and dystopian future settings are doing at the box-office, the film should do very well come summer. “The Rover” is due in theaters June 20.
