USA Network confirms comic-reality series ‘Chrisley Knows Best’ will return for season two
Ity was confirmed today that the USA Network has ordered 12-episodes, or a second season, for the network’s original reality series, CHRISLEY KNOWS BEST. The real-life family comedy follows the entertaining lives of Atlanta-based “Patriarch of Perfection” Todd Chrisley, and his colorful clan including his wife, five children and two grandchildren. The buzzy series has captured a loyal following in its first season and is the network’s youngest original series to date with a median age of 36.5.
“We knew from the moment we met Todd there was no other character quite like him and whether or not you agree with his parenting style, he has certainly struck a chord with our viewers as their new guilty pleasure,” said Heather Olander, senior vice president, alternative programming for USA Network. “We’re excited to continue the laughs and be there for more genuine family moments with Todd and his family in season two.”
Season one introduced the outspoken and overprotective, but very loving husband and father, Todd Chrisley and his unique brood, including his lovely wife Julie, and charming-yet-scheming children: Lindsie, Kyle, Chase, Savannah and Grayson. The season was filled with laugh-out-loud moments and Todd’s signature one-liners, where in Todd’s words, “Crazy runs deep!” Highlights include Todd cringing over his teenage daughter’s questionable wardrobe choices, a heated competition between Todd and his not-so-favorite son-in-law at a shooting range (where Todd showed up in a full army attire), Chase being punished with a boot on his car (courtesy of dear dad!), and Todd presenting his oldest daughter with a boob cake before her breast augmentation surgery. But despite their crazy moments and Todd’s over-the-top behavior, he has the best intentions at heart and at their core, they are a fun, close-knit, loving family.
The series will conclude its 8-episode first season on Tuesday, April 22nd at 10/9c, with Todd’s granddaughter Chloe celebrating her first birthday. In true Todd fashion, he bets his wife Julie that he can throw just as fabulous a birthday party for Chloe as she could. The wager is on, but Todd has to do it all on his own. He soon realizes the hard way that planning a party with cupcakes and a petting zoo is not as easy as Julie makes it look.
