The cast of ABC’s upcoming drama ‘Astronauts Wives Club’ continues to grow, the latest addition to the cast is Dominique McElligott, previously seen on ‘Hell on Wheels’. ABC ordered the series from Stephanie Savage earlier this year.
The show will take place in the 1960, the series will center on the life and trials of the actual women who supported the early astronauts of the time period. The show comes from Stephanie Savage, making this the follow-up series since her initial breakaway hit ‘Gossip Girl,’ which she co-created with Josh Schwartz.
Directing the first episode is Nick Cassavetes, the show was originally planned as a summer series but instead ABC has bumped it to midseason. In the show McElligott will star as Louise Shepard, her father was the head of maintenance at the Duponts’ Longwood Gardens estate. A local attraction in my home state of Delaware and a staple in the school field-trip category.
McElligot will take on a difficult and historically significant role, her husband Alan (played by Harrington) was the first American in space.
