NBC has made the decision that Pharrell Williams will be the new coach on ‘The Voice’. Williams will be replacing Cee Lo Green as the reality-series enters into its seventh season on the network.
Pharrell Williams kicked off 2014 with a bang, his latest Oscar-nominated song “Happy,” was very well received, and his collaboration with Daft Punk helped the album ‘Get Lucky’ win a Grammy.
This isn’t the artist’s first time on the competition series, he was a guest mentor for Usher during the show’s fourth season.
“He has already made a considerable impact as a mentor, drawing on an impressive track record as both a producer and performer,” said Paul Telegdy, the president of alternative and late night programming for NBC Entertainment. “It is a perfect fit for The Voice as we evolve and reach for new heights with this franchise. It feels like we are welcoming an existing family member home.”
