Dakota Johnson to follow up ’50 Shades of Grey’ with ‘Black Mass’
Current negations are in their final stages as Warner Bros. hopes to have Dakota Johnson playing opposite Johnny Depp in ‘Black Mass’. The film is a biopic, on the life and fate of Whitey Bulger, the convicted murderer and former organized crime figurehead.
Currently starring in the film are Johnny Depp, Guy Pearce and Joel Edgerton. As for the director’s chair that will go to Scott Cooper , with Cross Creek co-financing the film along with Warner Bros. Pictures.
This won’t be the first time Depp has starred in an organized crime film, it is becoming somewhat of a second hobby for the actor. The film will involve Bulger’s life story, from crime-boss to FBI informant, a position that he used to also destroy those in the criminal world that would oppose him. It took ten years for the FBI to find Whitey, living in Santa Monica he was finally captured in 2011 after disappearing ten years earlier.
Fans can catch Dakota as she steams up theaters as Anastasia Steele in “Fifty Shades of Grey,” on Valentine’s Day weekend.
