FOX confirms young Bruce Wayne and Catwoman for GOTHAM series
Two big headlines came in today for Batman fans, just a few hours after Warner Bros. Interactive confirmed a new Batman Arkham Knights game, two major roles for the GOTHAM series on FOX have also been confirmed.
The two new additions to the cast are Camren Bicondova and David Mazouz. While David will be playing the part of a young Bruce Wayne, Camren will take on the role of famed cat-burglar Selina Kyle. Fans should remember David from the short-lived series “Touch” he will be your eventual Batman, while Camren Bicondova will take on the latex-wearing suit of Catwoman.
The series itself will center on the early career of Commissioner Jim Gordon, it will be a prequel to the usual Batman series’ timeline, introducing the characters and villains that make up the GOTHAM universe. Thomas and Martha Wayne were of course killed in the series, leaving billions to the pre-tees Bruce Wayne who is cared for by butler Alfred Pennyworth (played by Sean Pertwee) and often interacts with James Gordon (played by Ben McKenzie).
In the series Selina Kyle is a teenager, and an orphan, who starts her career as a pickpocket and street-wise small-time crook. Of course Anne Hathaway played the role in 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises. Also starring in the series are Donal Logue as Gordon’s superior and eventual “Two Face” villain Harvey Bullock; Robin Lord Taylor will be the the Penguin; Zabryna Guevara is Captain Essen; and Erin Richards will be Gordon’s love interest. Also appearing on the program is Jada Pinkett Smith as the Penguin’s boss.
