FOX’s Gotham series adds Jada Pinkett Smith as mobster Fish Mooney
Another casting decision has been made for the upcoming Batman prequel series ‘Gotham’. This time it was Jada Pinkett Smith that was picked to take on the role of feared mobster ‘Fish Mooney’.
The series will follow a young James Gordon, who will eventually become Commissioner Gordon for the Gotham City Police Department.
So far FOX has cast Gordon himself (played by Ben McKenzie) Donal Logue as Detective Harvey Bullock, Zabryna Guevara as Captain Essen, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth and Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald “The Penguin” Cobblepot.
The series still doesn’t have a premiere date, but more villains are expected to be added as the show gets further along into production. The series will see Gordon as he rises through the ranks of the GCPD, and his earliest interactions with Gotham’s villains, and a young Bruce Wayne. The series will be penned by Bruno Heller, known for his work on “The Mentalist”.
