CW adds John Wesley Shipp, the original Flash, to the cast lineup
In an unexpected addition, the actor who previously played the Flash is set to return to the series in the upcoming CW ‘Flash’ program. The details were confirmed earlier today, though the CW did not go into great detail to describe Shipp’s involvement.
Shipp took the role of The Flash/Barry Allen in the previous live-action series on CBS back in 90s. Who Shipp is scheduled to play is still unknown, though he is set to be a recurring guest star assuming the pilot does well enough for the series to move forward on the CW.
This month saw the confirmation of quite a few characters for the upcoming show, adding Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, as well as actors Candice Patton, Rick Cosnett, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Tom Cavanagh and Jesse L. Martin.
More information on the pilot, the potential series and how it will ultimately tie-in with CW’s other hit ‘Arrow’ will all be unveiled as the show moves further along in production.
