In a slight alteration, Microsoft will be changing the name of its cloud-drive service from SkyDrive to Microsoft’s OneDrive. The company has also released a new video to start promoting the name-change which you can see above. Microsoft stated that the company, “will continue to operate as you expect and all of your content will be available on OneDrive and OneDrive for Business respectively as the new name is rolled out across the portfolio.”
Customers will have a few weeks to become acclimated with the new name, the company will change-over completely to OneDrive sometime over the next few months. This change is the result of a trademark issue with British Sky Broadcasting Group (BSkyB) forcing Microsoft to change the popular brand-name.
