Sound-of-Music-InsertNBC has confirmed that ‘Peter Pan’ will be the next musical to receive an live special. The network made the confirmation earlier this morning (Sunday). The live musical production is set to air on December 4, 2014 and will have Craig Zadan and Neil Meron attached as executive producers.
NBC saw a terrific return with ‘The Sound of Music’ when it aired last year, though critics weren’t entirely impressed with the new rendition of the classic tale, viewers were eager to watch the live performance of Carrie Underwood.
There was even a special ‘making of’ episode that aired before the live performance, which also drew in it’s share of viewers. No word on casting or premiere time, but more information will be released as the project moves further along in development. This comes just days after ‘Peter Pan’ the movie took Man of Steel 2’s original July 2015 premiere date in theaters. Warner Bros. confirmed tat Peter Pan the film will release on July 17, 2014.
